About Sinus Infection
Sinusitis is caused by inflammation in the lining of the sinuses, causing symptoms like those experienced with colds and flu. Typical symptoms include sinus pain (nose, cheeks, and forehead), a blocked nose, high temperature, and loss of your sense of smell. Sinus infections are typically due to infection with a virus. However, if you have really severe symptoms, or your symptoms aren’t clearing up after a couple of weeks, you might have a bacterial sinusitis which can be treated with antibiotics.
