Caring for insect bites at home
  • Use a cold compress to reduce swelling and discomfort.
  • Avoid scratching to prevent infection.
  • Wash hands before and after applying any cream or touching the area.
Using your medication
  • Take antihistamines as prescribed. They may cause mild drowsiness.
  • Apply cream sparingly to the affected area as directed.
  • Avoid using creams on broken or irritated skin unless you are told to do so by a clinician.
When to come back
  • If the swelling or redness worsens after 48 hours.
  • If the bite becomes painful or starts to ooze.
  • If you develop a fever, facial swelling, or spreading rash.
